Can you help us Alter the World?

Many people don't act to save a child or ease suffering because they worry that small acts of kindness don't make a difference. We believe that any gesture of compassion really can change the world.

World Altering Medicine is a medical non-profit 501(c)3 organization run by a small group of doctors.  We provide life-saving medical assistance in poorly-resourced African hospitals to people who have no other support. We focus on inexpensive, cost effective interventions that have life or death impact ($5-$10 per life saved) such as oxygen for children with pneumonia.

The founders are Dr. Dan Dewey, Dr. Kevin Bergman, and Dr. Barry Taylor, with expertise in international medicine, HIV, emergency, and family-centered care.

Breath of Life Oxygen Project

Can you believe that most hospitals in Africa have no supplemental oxygen? For children with respiratory illnesses such as pneumonia and tuberculosis, this is a deadly situation. We are on a campaign to change this. Since June of 2009 we have installed 7 oxygen concentrators in the pediatrics wards of 2 major hospitals in Malawi.  Now, we are purchasing oxygen concentrators for 15 other needy public hospitals. Thanks to you, the children of Malawi can breathe easier! Learn more

See how you can help alter the world.
